Armadillo

I did a photoshoot at night with this armadillo and the photos turned out not quite sharp. I was disappointed, but the next day I got a second chance. This photo is from my second photoshoot with the armadillo – however, it only posed for a few minutes before it had to get back to the work of looking for innocent insects hibernating under the leaves.

Yo Robbie, great Shot! I am very impressed by your body of work with your nature shots and your still lifes. As somebody who lived in Texas while in the USAF, I always had a soft spot in my heart for Armadillos. I just never realized they ranged as far east as the Peach State!

Thanks! Yeah, I really like Armadillos and they’re surprisingly easy to photograph – if you take the right approach, so to speak. There’s one area out here, Big Lazer Creek Wildlife Management Area, that is literally just loaded down with Armadillos. Seriously, you cannot go there without seeing one – no matter what time of day!
